Associate Director for Economic Competitiveness and Social Renewal asbl
Katarzyna Jakimowicz is associate director at the Lisbon Council for Economic Competitiveness and Social Renewal asbl, a Brussels-based think tank and policy network.
She brings deep expertise on the innovation and entrepreneurship dossiers combining worlds of policy and business. She is a policy analyst, brand management professional and entrepreneur with experience from EU Commission (DG GROW), non-profit & private sector (fast moving consumer goods and pharmaceutical industry). She has led multiple research projects for the European Commission, including “Startup Manifesto Policy Tracker" for European Digital Forum - EDFX (DG CNECT), studies on online alternative finance and new financial models for innovation (DG RTD) or a pilot on electronic identification system (eIDAS) for SMEs . She is also a co-author of 2016 Startup Nation Scoreboard. She provides support to VP´s Ansip Working Group on Digital Entrepreneurship at the UN Broadband Commission on sustainable development (UN BBC).
She holds a M.Sc. in EU business and law from Aarhus University with a focus on EC competition law as well as a degree from Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) and a degree from the University of Oxford. She is currently completing a PhD in Political Science in the Institute of European Studies at Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB).
