New Economy
Beyond Growth

An increasingly perplexed international landscape and deteriorating trade relations are impacting the European economy. Businesses’ capacity to innovate is hindered by barriers such as poor access to early risk financing, poor access to frontier research, and limited specialised skills and knowhow. New ideas from fields such as clean technology and artificial intelligence are expected to generate economic growth whilst responding to environmental challenges and new societal demands, but it remains to be seen how these innovations will impact society in the long run.
