Andrea Alberto Lovato
Andrea Lovato is the Chief Executive Officer of Tenova, a Techint Group company, worldwide partner for innovative, reliable and sustainable solutions in metals and mining with over three thousand forward-thinking professionals located in 22 countries across five continents. After graduating in Industrial Engineering at Politecnico in Milan and working briefly at Foster Wheeler Italia, Lovato worked in the United Kingdom for two years, for Mars, the US food and agriculture multinational, where he followed the Graduate Program. Subsequently, he joined Pirelli as Industrial Controller involved in the re-organisation of operations in Europe and the Americas; over the next seven years, he also worked as head of Business Planning, and later was appointed Group Controller in the Tyres Division. In 2000, Lovato and two partners established Jakala, now Italy's leading company in Marketing Services & Digital Solutions, which he left in 2003 to join Fiat Group. In Fiat Group (now FCA), he was initially Vice President Strategic Development, and later moved to Iveco, the Group company active in the production of industrial and passenger transport vehicles, as head of Business Development and Joint Venture operations. In 2005, Lovato joined the Techint Group, as head of Business Development and Mergers & Acquisitions at Techint Finanziaria.He assisted the Group Chairman in developing strategy to strengthen and grow Group operations. Under his guidance, the Techint Group completed a series of international acquisitions in Germany, China, the USA and South Africa, marking its entry into mining. He was involved in the re-organisation and establishment of the growth strategy for steelmaking and mining engineering operations, which were then grouped under the Tenova brand.
