Philip Hammond is a British Conservative Party politician who has been the Chancellor of the Exchequer since 13 July 2016 and the Member of Parliament for Runnymede and Weybridge since 1997. Hammond was promoted to replace Liam Fox as Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affaires. In July 2016, after Theresa May succeeded Cameron as Prime Minister, Hammond was appointed Chancellor of the Exchequer.
