In order to put Europe on the path towards a sustainable and emission-free future, environmental targets have been set through numerous packages and strategies. Technology and innovation are key in reaching these objectives. In its role as a leader, Europe needs to consolidate its position in the clean energy transition by becoming more competitive. Additionally, concerted efforts between business and policy-makers are essential to accelerate the transition in light of the unpredictable nature of climate change. Progress in the following sectors will have a considerable impact on reaching climate objectives: E-mobility, heating, renewables and power sector.
