It has been more than 20 years since the European Data Protection Directive came into force in December 1995. The proliferation of personal data we have witnessed since that time is unprecedented and has long called for reviewing the much-outdated legal provisions. The new General Data Protection Regulation will enter into force the very day after the conclusion of EBS 2018.
